Senior Manager/Supervisor
We are an E-commerce retailer, wholesale distributor, and manufacturer. This position is on-site, and we are not currently considering remote candidates.

We are currently seeking a talented Controller in the Pearland, Texas area. This person will conduct the full bookkeeping and AP / AR functions of the business while overseeing a small team. This position will provide oversight of day-to-day, month-end, and year-end accounting/reporting. The Controller position will also be responsible for organizing federal and state tax obligations with third-party tax advisors. The Controller will report directly to the CFO.

Initially, the Controller position will be reconciling bank statements and reconciling several balance sheet accounts with the assistance of a third-party accounting vendor in India.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Oversee and maintain the Chart of Accounts, Fixed Asset Inventory, and depreciation schedules.
  • Collaborate with external accounting firms to oversee and prepare journal entries for monthly and/or year-end financial statements.
  • Process timely FET payments, file Form 720 with the IRS, and process payments via the IRS tax payment system EFTPS, and oversee and process sales tax with the FDOR
  • Prepares monthly financial statements, i.e., income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement/forecast, and report of capital expenditures utilizing NetSuite reporting software as needed.
  • Maintain Balance Sheet accounts, including cash, receivables, fixed assets, accounts payable, pre-paid inventory, etc.
  • Streamline and institute process improvement for internal financial controls.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, with a CPA designation
  • Experience: 2-5+ years’ experience in a related role, including supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Oracle, NetSuite Software, and ADP is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in an e-commerce or Inventory Auditing in a retail or wholesale environment preferred.
  • Strong Attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team environment as required.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial principles to the Executive team.
  • Hands-on reconciliation and closing the monthly books experience is strongly preferred.
